Can someone please tell me anything they think could help me?

i bought my L7S7A2, it worked for a week then went crazy ((CMOS Errors --
New battery did not help)). i exchanged it for another L7S7A2, which came in
today.

this new board they sent me WILL NOT EVEN POST.
all i have connected to it is POWER, Power Switch pin, Memory, CPU/Heatsink,
and a graphics card so that i can try to see it post. ((when i had the LED
lights hooked up they lit up, and when i had the IDE cables in, they made
noise -- so i think the board has power -- also, the CPU fan works.)) yep,
im pretty sure the motherboard has power surging through it... but it wont
post.

i tested the videocard on the computer i am posting this message, the
videocard works.
did the same for the monitor, the monitor works...

all i can think of is to exchange the board yet again, this time for a
refund. ((im really tempted to try an ASUS instead -- this computer runs an
asus, no problems))

i am also curious to know if ECS (maker of the board) does any power on
tests before they send me the board.

do other companies do any sort of testing of their product?

are ECS less reliable?

update: i tried taking it out of the case, putting it on a static free
surface, and running it, it will still not post.

is there anything else i could try?

Yup ....A different manufacturer, ECS mobo's are crap, ASUS makes some good

....and you base this opinion on what, exactly? Personally, I've always
been quite happy with ECS boards I've used. Do you have any real
evidence that "ECS mobo's are crap" or are you just trying to sound like
you know what you're talking about?

In the big picture..... they are crap.....from my experiences with
them. OP clear the CMOS (very common problem with ECS) by
shorting the jumper with the system UNPLUGGED from the power for 30
seconds or so. Set defaults and try and boot. If no go, strip it down
to the minimums - Power supply, CPU+fan, 1stick memory, video card.
try and boot.

I got my asus board, put it in, problem solved...
i guess ECS is crap (1 broke down, and my replacement was dead on arrival).
