No pictures at all.

In windows mail 6.0.6000.16386 / Vista I am no longer seeing any pictures in
the mail I receive, ie; adds from my suppliers' websites, Kim Komando, etc. I
have checked the Tools, Options and the appropriate boxes are unchecked. This
started yesterday and I hadn't change a thing.

When I closed the mail program it asked to compress messages. I said yes. I
re-opened the Windows mail and now I can see the pictures again!!!
