You have no control over how the recipient's email program displays a photo
included with an email. When Windows Mail receives an email with a photo,
it always displays that photo.

If you send a plain text message and attach the photo, it will appear at the
end of the message. If you send an HTML message and insert the photo, it
will appear in the body of the message. If you send an HTML message and
attach the photo, then I don't think it will display at the bottom of the
message, but I'm not sure. You can experiment by emailing yourself. You
can zip the photo also to prevent it from being displayed.

It does not matter ( except ' zip the photo ' which I don't know ),Plain
Text or HTML, Insert or Attach, the picture will appear in the message body.
I sent attachments at least 300 times a year. As long as the recipients are
using Windows Mail, pictures will show up in the message body.

Thank you Gary ( and can I add Steve Cochran and t-4-2 into this thanks ??
If not Gary , could you forward ?)

Do I gather from your combined opinions that the answer is

1 No you cant and

2 Why worry ?

Ric Baybury , who writes a very interesting column each week in the saturday
Daily Telegraph ( at
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/technology/3358655/Rick-Maybury-Houston-we-have-a-problem....html
) has recoomned in the past that you can simply attch a photo ( not in the
body of the text ) in "Outlook Express 6" . Why cant I do it in Windows Mail
? I dont want ( and I dont think reciepients want ) a huge picture clogging
up the window .

Second point . I recived the email from (e-mail address removed)
<[email protected]> , thanks . But when i clicked on the link I got a
white , balnk screen. So I went back into this site a found my query
.............just mentioning this FYI

The behavior of WinMail is the same as of OE with respect to showing
attachments.

Thanks Gary . Could I ask then why is there a "facilty " ( dont know the
correct word ) in Tools Options , HTML settings , re "Send pictiures with

Dont tell me Mr Maybury has got it all wrong

I went to that URL, but could not find Mayberry's comments about the
photo issue, so I'm not sure what he asserted.

"Send pictures with message" is enabled by default. The option is
available so that those who never want to send out pictures can disable it.

OK I think I have flogged this issue . I might email Ray M and see what he
thinks but I am guessing he gets zillions of emails each week and only deals
with some

Cheers
