Send Photos

Hi folks:
I need little help with a problem I am having sending photos as mail
attachements. When I go into my pictures folder, reduce the file size, and
click on e-mail, instead of the Mail application opening up with the message
window having the photos already attached, it now gives me a window saying
the pictures are being sent. Where they are going, I have no idea. (Some dude
in Zamboanga is probably wondering why he's getting these strange pictures of
my wife's flower garden.)
Opening the message window first and then attching the photos doesn't permit
me to reduce the file size and I end up sending multiple e-mails because the
files are so large.
This has only started to happen since I uninstalled my copy of MS Office XP.
I had installed this app simply for MS Word since many of the people I was
corresponding with weren't running Vista and couldn't open attached documents
sent in the .wps format. Now that they have installed the MS Works reader, I
no longer need MS Office. Prior to installing MS Office the system worked
fine. (Select photos>reduce file size>click e-mail>get message window)
Since you good people always have an answer to these little problems (as
well as the big problems) I would appreciate some guidance as to how to
restore my Windows Mail to its previous incarnation.
Many thanks

If you installed Outlook with Office XP, it took over as the default email
client. 'Control Panel|Default Programs|Set your default programs', reset
Windows Mail as the default email application and make sure it has all it's
defaults. Note that any updates to Office (from Windows Update or Office
Update) will probably reset Outlook as default again, so you'll need to keep
an eye on this if you keep Office XP installed.

To Hal hostetler:
Thank you very much for your information. I had checked the defaults and it
was set to Windows Mail. However this time I followed through and clicked on
the "Set to Default" selection and just like magic it worked. Much
appreciated.
