update patches would have adjusted it for the new time switch this year.

One of them did.

I'm running Windows XP SP2. I followed the instructions suggested by Gary.
I get the message that I already have the patch loaded. But the clock
remains at standard time.

What now!!

Thanks

Could be that your update is applied but you have configured (maybe
unintentionally) not to correct for DST automatically. Go into your time
setting Time Zone tab and check that auto-update DST (or similar) is
checkmarked.

My system also did not update. I ran the patch again and it said it was
already installed.

What gives?

His suggestions were posted at 9:42 this morning, long after DST was
started. You'll have to change the time yourself this time. Or, if you
want it to read "Eastern Daylight Time", move the clock back to 1:58,
wait for the update, correct the time.

Maybe you are like me and didnt check to see if the Daylight Savings box was
still checked. Apparently one of the updates UNchecks it as I have never
touched it and it always adjusted itself before and expected it to do so
this year. Always expect the unexpected when it comes to windows I guess.

Yeah, but it still has to be done before next year. Now is as good a time as
any (no pun intended!) LOL.
