no outlook express

F

A friend has had a new computer built 2 weeks ago.
Running XP pro sp2

There does not appear to be any outlook express loaded.
No shortcut on the desktop, no listings in programs on start menu.

When you check in add remove/ windows components it says it is loaded.
After taking out the tick to uninstall then reinstall, it starts to remove
it, then asks for the windows disk ( which we put in drive) then says it
needs MAV Tools.
Windows cannot find it on the disk and the process stops.

Does anyone have an answer for me please?

Many thanks

The executable for Outlook Express is msimn.exe. Almost certainly it's
installed, but the shortcuts aren't present.

Tell your friend to press Ctrl-R, then enter msimn.exe. Assuming that
Outlook Express starts, all he needs to do is create whatever
shortcuts he wants.

See if the folder is there,
C:\Program Files\Outlook Express
If it is look in the folder for msimn.exe
Right click it and create a shortcut to desktop.

Problem now fixed, thanks to all the help.

There was no exe. file in outlook express folder, or shorcuts on desktop, or
under programs
the advise from Ken Blake sloved it

Again many thanks.
