Brian

I have a computer that does not show the open or save
dialog box when you click a file in IE6. The file can
only be viewed in the browser and will not allow you to
save the document (pdf, etc.) on the local computer. I
have read of problems with IE5.5 and netscape working
together and giving problems like this. Has anyone else
had this happen? I need to know how to get it back as an
option without removing netscape if possible. Can anyone
help?

Brian,

To get the download dialog box, enable the "confirm open after download"
option for that filetype:

Click "Start" -> "Program Files" -> "Windows Explorer".

Then click "Tools" -> "Folder Options".

Change to the "File Type" tabs.

Scroll down to locate the file type. Highlight the filetype (example :"PPT
Microsoft PowerPoint Presentation") and click the "Advanced" button.

Then check the option "confirm open after download".
