Hi,
All our client PCs use:
a)windows 2000 + office 2003 + ie6
b)windowxp sp2 + office 2003 + ie6
Our local lan clients use IE6 to connect to our webserver (we are using
webservices for mail merge operations).
They choose a template from a drop down list and the webserver dynamically
generates an xml file with data from a db. IE6 loads the xml file and
automatically opens an (embedded) winword2003 so that our lan clients can
print and/or modify the xml file.
(By embedded I mean when you have a linked pdf document in a html page and
you click on the link, the pdf documents are opened with acrobat reader but
within the ie6 inteface. It is exactly the same with our xml files.)
NOW THE PROBLEM:
Everytime ie6/word2003 opens a xml file, a very annoying dialog box appears:
"Do you want to open or save this file?"
Name: xyz.xml
Type: Microsoft Word Document, 44,3kb
from: ourserver
Open / Save / Cancel
How can we suppress this dialog box (no confirmation should be required),
so that the files are immediately opened in word2003 and ?
thanks a lot
