I've had XP Home Edition since it's release, and this is the first time
I've ever encountered this problem. The install.exe file on the game cd
doesn't work. It's an original copy, too, not a bootleg. I click on it,
and nada. Tried the RUN route, no luck either. It's as though the install
..exe file is just dead! I've never run into this before, and I've
installed dozens of games. My XP is fully updated. Other files on the
disc respond when clicked on.

Weird!

Hi Ms. Goodwrench,

Try this method to resolve the issue..
Boot into "SAFE MODE" using an Administrator Account:

To get to the safe mode option, Shut Down and then power on your
computer, keep pressing F8 until the Safe Mode menu appears. :-)
