No Mouse

On a Pentium-II machine, running XP home, the serial mouse suddenly stopped working. I then plugged in a new PS2 optical mouse into the PS2 mouse port, and it doesn't work either. 'Tried this PS2 mouse on another Machine and it lights up as soon as I plug it in and works fine. On the Pentium-II machine it didn't even light up
I've checked the bios and it was set to detect PS2 mouse automatically. I changed it to PS2 mouse enabled. ........Still nothing
The device manager does not show Mice and other pointing devices or anything else with the word mouse in it
The new hardware wizard sees neither the Serial mouse nor the PS2 mouse.
How can I get one of the mice to work
Any help will be much appreciated

Hi Marko,
Does it work on another computer? or, try with a fresh USB mouse on your
computer.
