No mouse scrolling in Design view?

J

Jay Levitt

With FrontPage 2003, my IntelliMouse Explorer scroll wheel has no effect
in Design View. I can scroll successfully in the Folder List pane, in
Preview, in Code, in the Code half of the Split view, but not in Design
view or in the Design half of Split view.

I have tried both the built-in Windows XP drivers and IntelliPoint 5.0.
Neither works.

Has anyone else run into this? Google and MSKB searches didn't find
anything.

When in Design:Split:Code pane, the scrolling seem to be limited to the Design:Code pane, since a
selection in Design:Code pane automatically select the section in Design:Design pane.

However I do see the issue of not being able to scroll in full Design:View

Check for latest IntelliMouse Explorer software and your mouse settings (for IE)

Starnge.

I have MS FP 2003, MS Wireless Intellimouse Explorer 2.0 and the driver
version is 5.0.174.0, an dit scrolls in Design View no problem. Even
sideways when I tilt the wheel.

Strange indeed.. perhaps this is only a problem with the older, non-
tilt, wired Intellimouse Explorer? Thomas did post a few days ago
saying he could duplicate it..

I also am using V5.0.174.0, but with the older, non-tilt, wired
Intellimouse Explorer.
I have no problems with scrolling in any FrontPage view.

FYI, I started working with MS tech support on this, who reported that
one other user who had this problem had previously installed a beta of
FP2003. I hadn't, but I had installed a beta of Visio 2003. So maybe
there was something in the beta code that stuck around and screwed up
our mice.

While IntelliPoint 5.0 didn't solve my problems, IntelliPoint 4.12
*did*. So that's a solution for anyone else running into this...
