Frontpage won't display design, split view only code view????

I copied an existing Page to use as a template and saved it using a different
name and the saved page now only displays on code view not Split view or
design view??
Why? or what is preventing Frontpage 2003 in displaying in design view
and/or split view?

What file extension did you save it with.??
If it's not a "web page related" file extension the page will display in a "text file" type
editor window, which will not have the viewing / editing options.

Old topic - did not know if I should make a new one. Today I cannot see the lower left tab for Split - Preview - Design etc. I am working with PHP files as I always do but the tabs went away and the shortcut keys (CTRL + page up) do not work. If I rename a PHP file HTML it then opens with the tabs and the CTRL+Page UP Down works fine to cycle through but not if named PHP???

This is on a fresh install on a different hard drive - so maybe there is some setting I have to make but cannot find it or remember ever doing it in the past 4 years

thanks

I found the answer on another forum and after messing with it all is ok

did find an answer by googling the problem ... it was a case of letting FP know what to do with the php fileshere is the info i got, in case others have the same problem:

- On the Tools menu, click Options, and then click the Configure Editors tab.
- In the Extensions list, locate and select the file extension that you want to use.
- In the Editors list, select FrontPage (Open as HTML).
- Click Make Default.
If the extension that you want does not appear, you must add it.

thanks for your help
