no more icons and filed opened on the task bar

when i open a file or a web page , and i want to minimize them all , it is
supposed to come down on the task bar, but when i choose to minimize i no
more see any of them on the task bar, i must click (shift + tab ) to retrieve
them
anybody help me plz
