Start Task Bar does not appear

My Start Task Bar does not appear...I use windows XP. The task bar does
appear when I am in other user profiles on the same computer. It is not a
problem of minimization or relocation. I have attempted going to
applications, new task, typing explorere.exe-- this allows me to access
everyting, but I am unble to reset the bar at the bottom of the screen. I
have also tried to auto arrange icons. Lastly, I accessed Control Panel,
Appearance and Themes, and clicked on the place for task and start bar.. but
this opens nothing (and I cannot therefore changge the settings).

There is an MS Knowledge Base article that may have your solution:

http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=318027

Whether or not that is your problem I cannot be sure, the problem i
the article states that after logon the computer only displays th
wallpaper or a blue or black screen. See if this matches the problem
you are having and if so run through the procedures listed
