No more application buttons on my taskbar

Hi,

I have WindowsXP Home Edition.
I don't really remember what I have done but for the time
being, there are no more application buttons on the
taskbar (whatever how many applications I start). So, the
only way I have to switch from one application to
another, is to use the Alt+tab key. Is there a way to put
back the option (display application buttons on the
taskbar) I can't find it.
