No login possible after some time

Hello all,

we changed in autumn our domain to an Active Directory, but now we
have the problem that some computers with win2k operating system can't
join the domain after some time.
At first all works fine, but after some weeks more and more computers
can't login.
The only way to solve this problem is to join a workgroup, reboot and
the join the domain again.
Than it's allready possible to join the domain.

My question is, if this problem is known other people here in the
group? Perhaps anybody have a good solution to solve this problem.

Thanks

No this is not a known problem with AD.

But you haven't given enough details to suggest a solution.

You join the computer to the domain once. Are you having problems logging in
after they are joined to the domain? What happens? Any error messages?

Danny is correct. Not a known problem and not enough info.

Here's a guess though: You have more than one DC. They aren't
all replicating correctly.

The computers change their password with one DC and then cannot
use another DC for computer logon.

Run a complete (/c) DCDiag on every DC and fix all FAIL or WARN
messages.

Another possibility: Your computers are set to use both internal and
external (ISP or gateway) DNS. Internal DNS clients must use ONLY
the internal DNS server (set) which can resolve all the DC records.
