No dialog box when blank CD/DVD inserted into drive

Windows Vista 64-bit Ultimate. Two DVD burners which each work fine reading
and writing discs using third party software such as Ulead VideoStudio 10+.
However, when I insert a blank disc in order to copy files using Windows
built-in capability, no dialog box appears (can't select Live vs Mastered,
etc) and Vista acts as if the drives aren't burners. (drag and drop onto the
discs is not allowed)

Any suggestions?

I have the same problem
only I'm using Vista Home Basic 32bit. I've been looking for a solution for
2 months. No luck.--
