no desktop no icon/start etc-kellys tweaks# 195

Guest

Only have the wall paper on desktop and nothing else, not even the start
button etc.(done on line scan, adware 1.06 and spybot 1.4 etc in safe mode
and remove whatever found) I downloaded the tweak #195 and copy and paste on
the said pc. Boot in Safe Mode and run the downloaded file. But this fails to
resolve the issue. Any idea what else can I do to bring the pc back to life.
Thank you

Type in 'explorer" nothing happen. Cannot understand why the cpu is running
at 100% and it is the explorer.exe 'use' name that is taking up 99%
When boots up in "safe mode", the total cpu % is about 2%
Anthing I can try, thanks

It sounds like your system is still not clean. Refer to these malware
removal steps:

http://www.elephantboycomputers.com/page2.html#Removing_Malware

If you didn't do the preparatory work, virus scans, etc. then do them.
If all else fails, run HijackThis and post your log in one of the
specialty forums listed at the site above (not here, please).

Many thanks to Will and Malke. I have it working now or at least the icons
are appearing on desktop except in the Add/Remove prog. There is 'Command
Service' which will not allow me to remove even under Safe Mode. I tried
with other antispy wares but still cannot remove it. Its says is inside the
memory. How can i get this? Thanks

Hi

Can you please right click on that Service, select Properties and post the
'Path to executable' - and also any 'Dependencies?
