No D: or E: drive.

Went to try out new game and cannot get anything to work from my disk drive.
Go to my Computer and tried to run it that way and saw that I have NO D: or
E: drive icons. I tried other c.ds nothing works. I am lost and confused.

See if the information in this MSKB article helps you to resolve the
problem:

You can no longer access the CD drive or the DVD drive, or you receive an
error message after you remove a CD recording program or a DVD recording
program in Windows XP: "error code 31"

The above is applicable to other error codes too, not just error code 31
