no bootup

Hi, Install a thermaltake water cooler on my asus a7n8x-e deluxe system. I
have everything out side of the case to test for leaks. Now when I hit the
power button, its starts for about 1 sec. and then cut off, no bootup. The
light on the mb is green. No sound from the hd. I reset cmos, no good. I
also trie to boot from a floppy, but it cut to fast.
Any help???

Thanks

Did you have the power disconnected while rebuilding?
Is the mobo power plugged in correctly?
Is the 4x4 power connector plugged in?
Is the CPU seated correctly?
Are all PCI cards seared correctly?

Do you have a faulty power / reset switch?
(stuck reset can stop a boot up).

Is the mobo on a non conductive surface?

When power is turned on what fans and other items startup?

The bios checks for cpu fan rotation. If you don't have a 3 wire fan plugged
into the Fan Header on the MB it will shut down. You can turn off the fan
detection in bios. Connect a fan to the Fan Header temporarily so it won't
shut down.

when it starts, the two fans come untill all stop.

If I could get it to run, I would set my bios. I know the rotation is wrong.
I connect the cpu fan (the one that came with my cpu) to the Fan Header
temporarily, samething.

Ah now thats good as no fan connected to fan header on an A7N8X dlx does not
shut the pc down and there is also nothing in bios to turn off fan detection
on an A7N8X dlx.......................

I have just looked at the bios settings on two A7N8X-E dlx boards and read
the manuals and there is nothing there to disable fan detection at all.
I have also just disconnected cpu fans(from fan header) on 3 A7N8X-E Dlx
boards and still no shutdown.
If you can see a setting in the bios where you can disable fan detection
then please say where.

I have had that issue before...disconnect all drives and any extra power
suckers....power up PC....shut the switch off ..replug everything and
fine...this happened when installing a brand new Enermax 465 ps..thought it
was screwed..for some reason the thermal protection had engaged.
