"No boot device available" after formatting

I formatted my system and created a C: containing the boot files and OS and
J: for my data. Later, I believe that I inadvertently designated J:
"Active." I believe that is why I'm getting the message ("No boot device
available.") when I try to reboot. What steps do I need to take to designate
C: as the active drive? I am hoping to avoid having to go through the whole
formatting process again.

Thanks in advance.

Unfortunately, my new system does not have a floppy. I have two dvd/cd
drives. Is there a thread that would give me a step-by-step on how to create
a cd start-up disk?

open command prompt & type in this command:
convert volume /fs:ntfs /v or type in this command:
convert C: /fs:ntfs /v
