Nikon PictureProject transfer assistant & picture organisation

about 18 months ago bought a very nice camera with software bundle
stopped functioning.
module that automatically downloads pictures to computer - No problem,
but the organiser opens Window frame menu bar and some icons and freezes,
leaving me looking at the desktop wallpaper through the frame, can't find an
obvious script solution, reset screen card to default and windows services to
default but can't figure out why after 6 months it stops, or how to discover
what files it is reliant upon in windows XP
Other image conversation software has done same thing, but cheap download so
ditched it!!

Did you call 1-800-645-6689 for help (24 hours)? I found the help to be
pretty good when I got my Nikon last January. The software is still working
ok for me except every time I open it I get a message about an update being
available. I asked Nikon about that and was told there is no update and no
way to turn off that message. I would call the toll free help number.
