Windows XP Service Pack 2 and Nikon PictureProject

A few weeks ago, I bought a Nikon D50 and installed the software
PictureProject which came with the camera - what a mistake! Ever since then,
I have received error messages and have experienced all sorts of problems. I
tried to uninstall PictureProject, but I receive the error message,
SetupDLL/SetupDLL.cpp.......
........7.1.100.1248 WindowsXPService pack 2 (2600) IE 6.0.29002180

I am assuming that this PictureProject software is now entangled with the XP
service pack and I don't know how to un-entangle it except to delete the
Service Pack, but I didn't know if that would further screw up my computer.
Please help! Also - yesterday I opened Outlook Express as usual and my
inbox was empty! In fact, all my folders were empty. I tried System Restore
on a date prior to installing PictureProject but the message I received said
nothing had been installed. I only know the basics in Windows XP - I am
clueless as how to go about deleting PictureProject and restoring my precious
e-mail inbox. If you can help, I would really appreciate it. Thank you.

If you just purchased the Nikon D50 "a few weeks ago", then it is under
warranty so you should be able to call/contact Nikon tech support. You'll
probably get better help there before screwing up your entire PC and
need to reinstall XP.
