Nice collection of exe compressors

Hi! Which .exe files is the exe compressor used for?

Any exe file that fits the compressors. If you use a MS DOS exe
compressor, then you are compressing a MS DOS executable. If you use a
Win32 exe, you need a Windows exe compressor. Which compiler generated
the exe should not matter in theory. All compilers convert the source code
into the same general state as the computer CPU only understands binary.
If and only if the "compiler" is actually a assembler should these tools be
useless. A dot com file is created differently than a dot exe file.

This is how exe compressors used to work and should still work like now.
