A: Because it messes up the order in which people normally read text.
Q: Why is top-posting such a bad thing?

Further to that, its actually the lack of decent newsreader (*decent IMO)
that stops me from sticking with linux. I keep trying Ubuntu but always
come back to Windows because of a lack of newsreader to suit my tastes
9amongst other reasons).

You can't be serious. There are SCADS of newsreaders out there that
are better than what Microsoft offers (be they Windows, Mac or Linux).

When I'm in Linux use what suits my mood at the moment. Either, KNode,
Pan or Thunderbird.

Any of those are better than Outlook Distress.

Guys,

here is a fun question. Is there is switch in "Windows news" that allows
just the newsreader to open? In was great when you would use Outlook for
email and just wanted a basic reader?

David Zera

Ex: in outlook express it was \outnews

Actually, that's a forward slash. And it's the same with Winblows Mail
(e.g. "C:\Program Files\Windows Mail\WinMail.exe" /outnews ).
