Well setting preferences is easy to do but requires a bit more
programming work, so maybe the programmers did not have time. What
sort of preferences? Things like background color I suppose? Surely
not things like the login name, password, etc of course.

Number of review results per page.
Review results order.

If that is not my browser settings, they must have overlooked it.

Appears to be working fine today.

Maybe they heard you and told their programmers to fix it. In Visual
Studio 2010, it's just a few lines of code and takes just an hour or
so, even the first time you do it. In other platforms it's a bit more
involved but should be easy to fix.
