New Year, New Server, even a new Building.

Hi,

We are a medium size company with around 50 workstations, a very old server
(Hardware) running windows 2000.

We are going to buy a brand new server, an possible install windows 2003.

What I am worry about is the workstations. Once the new server is up and
running, do I have to "rejoin" the Work Station?
Does that mean that the user profiles settings will be lost?

I would appreciate any commentary on the subject.

Only if you want it that way.
I would suggest you install the New server as a DC for your current domain,
then remove the Old server (use DCPROMO). Of course you could also leave the
Old Server as a secondary DC, always nice to have two.
Be sure to check/balance your FSMOs roles and set the Global Catalog server.
