New Windows XP update KB887472 causing problems

I can't restore my computer to a date before this update, and I can't recieve
my McAfee updates because of the system problem caused from this update.
Please help.
 
Is this update listed in Add/Remove Programs? If so, remove it from there.
 
Im in the same boat as marslace. only, I thought the problem might be mcafee
at first and uninstalled mcafee virus scan. now I cant reinstall it. Help.
