I also went to <http://www.lavasoftusa.com/> to see if the plugins had
been updated. No indication, except that if you try to download any
plugin, the link provided is to
<http://download.lavasoft.de.edgesuite.net/public/plvx2cleaner.exe>

and so on for the other plugins. Now, if I use nslookup to find out
about this domain, I get

nslookup download.lavasoft.de.edgesuite.net

I couldn't reach the lavasoft.de site, but there was no mention of a new
version on the .nl or the .nu site, very strange.

lavasoft.de has been around a lot longer than the lavasoftusa.com site & is
the original site for ad-aware Nothing to worry about.

During new releases, it is not uncommon for their servers to get inundated with
millions of downloads, therefore.... querying their domain may cause nil
returns.

No problems here running Windows 2000 SP4. Uninstalled 1.3 first,
rebooted installed 1.4.

That is the recommended procedure, and is exacly what I did.

Obviously there's something weird going on here, but there's a lot of
people having the same sort of difficulties.

I had two attempts to get a copy from Download.com - both failed to
install (corrupt media or Installation files were mentioned) My third
download from Digital Solutions installed without problems.

OK, color me confused! I am using Ad-Aware 6 and just updated it with
out a problem. Now I see all this stuff about SE 1.04. How did we get
from version six to version one point zero four???? I know I can be
dumber than a sack full of hammers, but this makes no sense to me!

on my system, W2K sp4, no problems!
Tested
smart system scan
full system scan
custom scan

No problems here either, except that there's a big fat memory leak of
some kind. It runs and eats up 40-50 megs of ram and then doesn't
release it when you exit the program. 1.03 did that too. They need to
fix it..

Note the program name ........ Ad-Aware "SE"

Ad-Aware 6 (not SE) has been superceded and you won't get updates for it
for very much longer.

I also got redirected to another site, but it allowed me to download the
full version of 1.04 which on install removed the previous version and
installed the new version. I ran the new version with no problems.
