I've just installed the new updates provided by Microsoft, including
#KB929123, which is described, BY Microsoft, as "Cumulative Security Update
for Outlook Express for Windows Vista."

Uh, Outlook Express in Windows Vista?? Am I missing something?

Best to do a manual update they you can select which patches to install.
Against better judgement I installed a WiFi driver for my NIC recently
from the update site, it killed my Internet connection.......

Yes the displayed title is misleading. The full title of that update is
Cumulative Security Update for Outlook Express and Windows Mail. There are
separate downloads for each platform. It does apply to Vista.

FYI click an update, choose view details. This gives a link to the MS
security bulletin (or KB article). This will provide more info on the
update.

Thank you, Rock, for acknowledging that I hadn't lost my mind. As far as I
know, there STILL isn't anything in VISTA called "Outlook Express." I guess
this just went right over Mac's head, huh? He's apparently too busy,
thinking up sarcastic, insulting responses. Must make him feel macho...

You're welcome.
