New Password

We are having a strange issue whereby when a user changes his password he
loses access to all his resources. He can log in with his new password but
after few minutes his account gets locked out. If we change his password
back to his original password everything is fine and his account does not
get locked. We have checked most services and his account is not being used
anywhere. Has anyone encountered this problem or is there a program I can
use to track down all services being used by an account.

We use a fully windows 2000 native domain.

Sounds like you have a replication problem.

Are you running exchange? Is it on a DC? Does the user have to log into
Outlook after the password change?
Sounds like the login server knows the password change, but if Exchange is
running on another server, or he has mapped drives to another server other
than the login server, his password change is not getting replicated to
those other servers.

On the problem computer run from command prompt "set" (no quotes) check the
"logon server" entry. Do they access other servers other than the logon
server for files (mapped drives) or email?

If so try to manually replicate, then check event viewer for replication
errors.
