New messages marked as read

I'm using Outlook 2003 XP and every message that has been coming in to my
inbox recently has been marked as read rather than new. How do I make a new
message come in bold (unread) again rather than looking like it's already
been read?? Thanks
 
Are you using auto preview? If you are and email is set to show as read after
X amount of seconds, that would be the reason it's marked as read. Go into
tools > options > other to change it.
