New MB STOP 1E / SP4 Install Error

Sear SIGers,

HELP!!!!!!

I have just upgraded my MB and CPU (retaining my hard
disk) and received the follwing error when booting: STOP
7B INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE

The Microsoft KB (MS KB), recommendation was to reapir the
installation as the HD had been formated using a different
IDE chip set. This worked OK

2. The second error I got was: STOP 1E (0x5, 0x46749B,
0x0, 0x0) KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOTHANDLED Address 8046749B Base
at 80400000 ntoskrnl.exe

One of the MS KB recommendations was to install the latest
SP as the files were outdated.


3 Booted up in SAFE MODE OK

4. When installing SP 4, I got the following
error: "Service Pasck 4 Setup Error / An error in updating
your system occured"

I only found this error reported for SP3 (KB 813747).

MS KB recommended I update the Windows installer.

5. Tried installing Windows Installer 2 but got the
folowing error:
"An unexpected Error occurred".
