New Look in Taskbar..?

Hi,

I have been having taskbar problems for weeks now. I mentioned these
problems before and was assisted by the nice people here in the Newsgroup.
Thank you guys.

Well anyway, the last person to assist me was Kelly. I did some things as
told and managed to solve the problem, I think. Initially my system was not
minimising windows in the taskbar and loosing the settings that I set. As
advised I went to "Kelly's Korner" website and clicked on "Line 240 on the
left" and "Line 54, on the right".

Ok, things were getting minimised in the taskbar. But the problem is, it
looks completely different now. Has Windows XP Professional got a new look
now? I am still on XP Professional Service pack 1.

Now the minimised windows appear on the right, near the clock next to my
language bar instead of the usual left near the quick launch. The minimised
windows in the taskbar are smaller and two arrrows, Up & Down appear next to
them so that I can toggle between windows if more than one window is open. It
is a little inconvienient as I can't see the description of the minimised
window due to the smaller rectangles. Only the first letter of the website or
program is visible and it is really frustrating trying to get to the one I
want by playing with the arrows.

Please advise how I can get back to the regular layout of the taskbar. Thank

My guess is that the quick launch bar has been extended to cover most of the
taskbar.

Just rightclick on the taskbar and uncheck "Lock the Taskbar" (if it's on)
and then drag the handle between the quick launch and the programs list back
to the left again.

That sounds to me as if the faint hatched 'handle, right of Quick Launch
has got dragged way too far over to the right. Have a look, left of
your regular buttons for running items, and drag it back
