New Install XP Pro - Setup stops at "Registering Components"

Setup stops w/ 14 minutes remaining - REgistering
components. No error, the setup just completely freezes. I
have tried 4 times, but each time it stops at the same
place.
 
I had the exact same problem happen to me during a Windows
2000 Server install (on a brand new Compaq server). No
error, just a frozen server at the 'Registering
Components' point in the setup.

The problem ended up being a bad CPU and/or motherboard.
Both were replaced and problem was fixed.
