I'm swapping me F3 Raid 0 array for a ssd.
I want to do a new install but am unsure as to how to save me Steam stuff.

Any pointers would be welcome folks.

As would any tweaks for ssd set up.

Ta.

Copy the Steamapps folder to an external drive. Install Steam and log in. Close Steam and copy the folder back to its correct location.

That should do it. :)

You may need to 'repair' the game install, but other than that it should work.

Dont do the first option. ;)

EDIT: keep an eye on your documents as some save games are in there not the Steamapps folder.

Ok thanks. I found some game files in Documents. Also found some in the programs x86, Bioshock 1 + 2 and a couple of others. :)

I've been meaning to do this myself so the OS SSD is not on the red. Will transfer mine to the Crucial M500 240GB SSD. It's not the fastest but for £86 I thought it was a good buy for another SSD drive. Think I'll use it for GTAV when it comes out.
