new hardware wizard pops up on startup

whenever I start my laptop with win xp I get the message found new
hardware and I have not added anything but took an update from xp
about a month ago and since then this found new hardware problem has
been occurring.

Without more information about what that is, you will not ever know what is doing that.

not sure what further info you need, the wizard does not say what new
hardware it found just that new hardware has been found and we have
to cancel that out to get on with running of computer which runs fine
after getting rid of found new hardware nag and we want to get rid of
that from coming up on startup.
