New Hard Drive

My current hard drive has Windows XP installed on it.
But the this hard drive is starting to go bad. I need to
transfer all files and OS to a new hard drive. What is the
easiest way to accomplish this.

There are several third-party programs to do this. Ghost and
DriveImage are probably the best-known.

Some hard drives also come with utilities that do this.

Assuming you have XP install disk. Remove old drive and
Installed new drive. Install your OS and get things the
way you want them. Then install your old drive as slave.
XP will see this a secoud drive. Tranfer you files as you
wish

Willit, I agree with you that this should be OP's first plan of attack, but
do you know which IBM/Hitachi tool will copy a partition from one HD to
another? (Just asking -- I've never identified an IBM utility similar to
MaxBlast, Disk Wizard, or Data Lifeguard Tools from the other three, but you
may know something I don't).
