[SOLVED] New hard drive - Why is it not working?

It's detected in the BIOS, but doesn't show up in Windows XP explorer.
Western Digital - WDC WD6400AACS-00G8B0 640GB

Can you see the new HDD in Device Manager..?
And have you set it to Slave in BIOS..?

Shows up fine in device manager, but the RAID controller has a red exclamation mark.

Drives connected to which ports

Maxtor 40GB Operating system disk - Health is fine - connected to SATA_1
Samsung 500GB Personal drive - Health is dying? - connected to SATA_2
Western Digital (The new drive) 640GB - Health is fine but has been put through an X-Ray twice - connected to SATA_3

Did you see if it shows up in Disk Manager using the link above? (run compmgmt.msc)

You guys know everything! Thanks a ton, all working now.

As for the other 500GB hard drive it works fine, but is dangerous and volatile and could fail completely soon. The only thing stored on that drive is my antivirus and a note telling anyone who uses my computer not to store important stuff on that drive.
