Went to an asus mb P4PE from an amptron P4-825. Installed the hard
drive, the bios sees it but wont boot from it, after checking ram cant
find bootable drive. Using win 2000, booted with cd and ran chkdsk /r
and all checked out ok. Any suggestions please...

You cannot just plug an old hard drive into a new mainboard and expect the
OS to work fine.

Usually a repair or new installation is required. Many times it will seem to
work, but start gettting flaky over time.
