New Emails not visible

I have outlook 2000... getting emails of Exchange 5.5 server.

New emails arent showing up until I click on the Inbox or folder where the
email is received into. At which time, all emails show up, almost like a
refresh...

Does anyone know what this could be? I have to be honest, Im not sure if I
have all MS updates on this machine.

Try getting all the available updates for Office 2000 -- the fix for your
problem should be included in those.
