new email not showing up in Inbox - Outlook 2007

I recently installed Office 2007 and I am noticing an odd behavior in Outlook
2007. When new email comes in, it is not shown in the Inbox, however the
Inbox "counter" displayed under the Favorite Folders indicates there is new
mail. Only when I go to "Unread Mail" under favortite Folders and then go
back to the Inbox, do I see the new mail.

Am I missing some new setting within Outlook 2007?

Thx Dave

David,

As I haven't used Outlook 2007, I don't know what it's defaults are. In
Outlook 2003, the default display for email folders is to Arrange by Date and
Show in Groups (View -> Arrange By). This groups email by day for the current
week, by week for previous weeks and so on. These groups can be
expanded/collapsed using a button (+/-) near the top left of each group. If a
group is collapsed, you won't see the email in that group. But even if you
have a group in your Inbox collapsed, that email will appear in the Unread
Mail search folder. Default display for the Unread Mail search folder is to
Arrange by Folder and Display in Groups, so the same caveat applies to the
Unread Mail search folder.

Don't know if this is what's "bugging" you, but you wouldn't be the first. :)

HTH,
