new email account screwed up old one?

Hi,
I am using Outlook 2000 in corporate/workgroup mode. I
originally had one internet mail account that worked
fine. I recently got a new email address from a company
that has a utility to automatically setup the email
account in Outlook. I ran the utility (it was a .reg
file that modified the registry). After doing this, the
new email account worked fine in Outlook, but my old
email account no longer worked. I had hoped that I could
have both accounts working at the same time. Now,
whatever I do, I cannot get the original email account to
work - not even if I delete all accounts and recreate
just the original account from scratch. I'm guessing
that the utility that came with the new address screwed
up my registry? Is there anything I can do to start with
a clean slate? If I just uninstall/reinstall outlook,
will that do the trick?

thanks,
Paul

Try creating a new mail profile. Control Panel>Mail>Show Profiles

Hi Brian,

Thanks for your response.

I created a new profile, added my orignial internet mail
account with exactly the same settings that had been
working until I added the new mail account, restarted my
PC, and it still doesn't work.

Please let me know if you have any other ideas. If you
or anyone else could tell me if there is a way to totally
wipe out Outlook and all mail related settings so that I
can do a clean reinstall, maybe I'll give that a try.

Thanks,
Paul
