New e-maill address; forwarding

Boss will be getting a new e-mail address; possible to forward incoming
e-mail to new address? (use a 'rule')? and at the same time notify sender of
new address?
 
That sounds like a server side issue/solution as opposed to one on the
desktop. Does your mail server support that functionality?
