Hi
I want to upgrade my CPU, will I have to reload Win XP ?

I have about 30 GB of programs and data and I don't want to spend the next 4
days reloading.

Any advice would be helpful

TIA

Elvey

No, unless you are going to change your mainboard with different bios ect.
If that is the case, you have to do at least a repair install of XP.

And probably re-activate, which may be a problem if the version of XP is
an OEM release. If it's a full retail or retail upgrade version it
should be no problem.

If you retain the motherboard, then all you need do is set any jumpers
needed on that, and then enter BIOS setup at boot to check that it is
happy with the CPU settings and reporting the correct speed.
