Trying to set up a windows 2000 network as a workgroup using Windows 20000 Professional and a 3Com Switch. I connected the computers to the swtich, installed the protocols and clients, powered up the switch and rebooted the computers but each computer could only see itself and not any other. One of them that saw another computer but could not connect to it and when I rebooted still it could no longer see it
How can I get round this problem?
 
I'm assuming that your IP scheme is configured correctly? All the computers need to be on the same IP subnet.
 
First, check the IP addresses. Can they ping each other? Unless there is
something shared, the PCs won't visible anyway. I don't think so anyway.
