Networking XP (1 Home and 1 Pro)

Using my Linksys router (BEFW11S4 V4), I am having trouble networking a
computer using XP Pro (no SP) and XP Home (SP2). Both computers are on the
same workgroup (MSHOME). My network was working perfectly for quite sometime
while the two were connected trough my router; however, my recent temporary
changes have hindered my network. Recently, I disconnected both my XP Home
laptop and router and connected them to another XP Pro computer on a
different workgroup (GILA). Neither computer would connect to each other,
although after a long period of waiting, we could see each other. I did run
the network wizard once on my laptop but I did not change the computer name
nor workgroup name. When I returned both the router and the laptop to my
origional network later that evening, I found that I could no longer get the
network I had before. Both computers may see eachother, but this is rare and
the laptop will no longer even connect via Remote Desktop Connection. Even
when trying TridiaVNC, neither conmputer can even see the other. What should
I do? I would be willing to do almost anything to the laptop and router, but
I would prefer not reinstalling service pack two again (still on here
though). I ran the network setup wizard many times, but I don't want to
change either the workgroup nor the computer name. Any help would be much
appreciated. Thanks yall.

Hi Mike,

On the affected machine, click start/run, type cmd and click ok. Run
"ipconfig /flushdns".
