Networking WinXP & WinME

Newbie

I am having problems getting the two computers to see each
other in Network Places (Neighborhood.) I am using WinME
on the host desktop, and have a brand new laptop with
WinXP. They share the internet connection fine, but I
can't access any shared folders or printers - most of the
time they can't even "see" each other on the network. Any
help is greatly appreciated!
 
Make sure the XP's firewall is disabled. It is only intended for direct
connections to the Internet. If you installed any third party firewalls,
make sure it isn't blocking access between the machines. Ensure NetBIOS over
TCP/IP is enabled on all machines.
