Make sure that File and Printer Sharing is enabled on the winME
machine and that a firewall program isn't blocking access to it.

Try accessing the winME machine directly from winXP instead of using
My Network Places. On winXP, type the winME machine's name in the
Start | Run box in this format:

\\name

One of the most common causes of this problem would be a misconfigured or
overlooked personal firewall, or other security component. There are several
other possibilities too, and any might be the cause of your problem. Read this
article with an open mind.

If none of the most common problems are there, then look at the Browse Master in
Windows ME. It doesn't work properly on the same LAN with the Windows XP
browser infrastructure.

Thanks, both, for the advice. Tried everything you have suggested. Now One of
the winXP machines see the winME but the machine that has the network hub
still can't see the winME machine.

Hi, I am likely to experience this problem too in that I wish to network my
WinXP PC to a WinME PC, the latter via a WiFi adapter PCI card. I read that
there is a software deficiency in WinME that will not allow it to be
networked wirelessly. Is this correct?

I think you'll find that wrong, I have a WinME machine networking
wirelessly here with XP without problems.

Two XP machines are in one room with the router, one is connected by
Ethernet the other wirelessly, the other side of the wall in another room
is the WinME machine which connects wirelessly.
