File sharing problem with WinXP and WinMe

WinMe PC will not share files and folders with
Win XP PC. The 2 PC's are connected through a router with
a cable modem. Both PC's can access the internet fine.
Both PC's can see each other from 'my network
places\entire network\microsoft
network\workgroup\computer name'.

I followed Win XP's step by step guide, and using
the Win XP CD network configurer. WinMe PC can access
the Win XP PC fine.

having the same problem with XP and 2000. both can access my cable modem through the linksys wireless system, but I can't set up the 2000 to share files or access the files I shared on my xp machine.
